1995-8-28 to Present Santa Croce, Camerina, Sicily Santa Croce Camerina, Sicily is a town and comune in the province of Ragusa, Sicily, in southern Italy. As of 2017 its population was of 10,973. The current mayor (2022) is Giovanni Baroni Santa Croce Camerina was first mentioned by King Roger II of Sicily in 1151. In 1470 the village was handed over to the baron Pietro Celesti, who began renovating the town. The municipal territory of Santa Croce is surrounded by Ragusa to the north, and the coastline to the south. The hamlets or villages that belong to Santa Croce to the south are the villages of Causzze, Kaukana, Punta Secca and Punta Braccetto.
