I am learning to be gentle with myself, to give myself grace, and to prioritize my peace. For a long time, I thought I was doing a pretty good job of that. But since starting therapy, I've realized just how often I was putting myself last. I spent so much time worrying about things that were outside of my control, carrying the weight of expectations, and pouring my energy into everyone and everything else. In the process, I wasn't giving myself the same care, patience, and understanding that I so freely gave to others. Therapy has helped me see that protecting my peace isn't selfish—it's necessary. It's shown me how much of my time and mental energy was being consumed by things that were taking away from the quality of my life. Instead of being fully present, I was often overwhelmed by worry, stress, and the pressure to keep everything together. This season of my life is about choosing myself more often. It's about creating space for rest, healing, joy, and the things that truly matter. I'm learning that giving myself grace doesn't mean I have it all figured out—it simply means allowing myself to grow without being so hard on myself along the way.
