On the Wrist, from off the Cuff: Rolex OP39 114300 vs. Traska Commuter 38; $6000 vs. $600 Comparison

The 114300 Rolex Oyster Perpetual 39 was considered by many as the perfect everyday luxury wristwatch for its combination of specs, capabilities, and understated style, but after being discontinued after only about 2yrs of production, it did leave quite a void in the market for those looking for that perfect balance of luxury and sportiness. Now enter the Traska Commuter, just recently released in a limited 38.5mm size (36mm as standard) with a similarly sedate yet stylish aesthetic that aligns, while not just being a straight-up copy with a different logo. There are even design aspects that I actually prefer in the Traska, and while it's not in the same league as the Rolex, it does hit some very similar notes, while adding additional capability and complexity to an already potent formula.
