I'm talking about the "welfare queen", the woman with multiple baby daddies or hell, any black woman character in a Tyler Perry movie because they're always positioned to be an environment of struggle, stress, drama and chaos. And I'm wondering: is it so foreign to see black women specifically brown and dark skinned black women (because they're the ones I see pushing the movement) choose to be an environment where they're not stressed out, where they're not worried, where they're not struggling and where they prioritize themselves over the community? And I know personally I don't need any more images of black women struggling, stressed out and worrying about racism and sexism.
