Flipping for Salamanders, Frogs, and More | Field Herping Montgomery Alabama

Spring is just around the corner. Frogs, Salamanders, and Lizards are starting to take advantage of the weather and are becoming easier to find. Unfortunately we were a little early in the year for snakes but we still have a lot of great finds. What we saw: Eastern Narrow-mouth Toad, Gastrophryne carolinensis Southern Toad, Anaxyrus terrestris Green Tree Frog, Hyla cinerea Northern Slimy Salamander, Plethodon glutinosus Marbled Salamander, Ambystoma opacum Little Brown Skink, Scincella lateralis Eastern Fence Lizard, Sceloporus undulatus Green Anole, Anolis carolinensis Southern Cricket Frog, Acris gryllus (Dead) Common Box Turtle, Terrapene carolina And as always, if you want to learn how to identify what you see in the field, check out Schechter Natural History's Guide to Reptiles and Amphibians. https://schechterguides.com/herp-guide/
