How rare and special is that- very! This car has been certified by Camaro expert Jerry MacNeish as being a real RS/SS with its original motor and colors. I'm confident that only a handful may have been ordered like this and how many, if any, still survive today? It's a unicorn where rarity meets desirability, being certified authentic makes it an investment you can enjoy! EXTERIOR: It's the kind of Camaro that immediately stands out from the crowd. The body appears to be in excellent shape with straight panels and very nice fit throughout. As a Rally Sport, it features the iconic hideaway headlights, which operate properly with their electric motors, relocated reverse lights and wide rocker moldings. The Tuxedo Black paint is polished to a smooth, glossy mirror finish. The white nose stripe and white power convertible top provides a stunning contrast to the black exterior. The glass is original including the windshield, while the weatherstrips were replaced. Overall, the chrome and trim present very well, it has a custom unique rear mount antenna and correct bowtie mirror. Completing the look are 14-inch Rally wheels wrapped in reproduction Wide Oval tires that offer the classic appearance while benefiting from modern radial construction. INTERIOR: The factory red deluxe interior is stunning by itself, but paired with the black exterior it creates one of the most striking color combinations Chevrolet offered. The deluxe seats have been reupholstered and feature the correct black accent striping. The molded deluxe door panels appear to have been replaced along with the dash pad. The carpet, center console, steering wheel, and heater control panel are all in very good condition. It still retains desirable original features including the factory seat belts and AM radio. Even the interior lights are working properly. ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It is the original, certified #s matching 396 big block that was born in this Camaro. For collectors, that's where the real value lies, and having that authenticity verified makes this car especially significant. The engine is dressed in fresh Chevy orange paint with coated factory exhaust manifolds. The chrome valve covers and air cleaner look new, and the compartment has a clean, proper appearance throughout. It is equipped with power steering, the horns are hooked up, and the hood insulation is in place. TRUNK COMPARTMENT: The trunk is clean, complete, and very well presented. Under the trunk lid and in the jamb, the black paint provides a glossy finish. Inside, the trunk is made of solid metal finished with the correct spatter paint coating. The weatherstrip and well liner have been replaced. It also retains its collapsible spare tire along with a complete jack assembly, adding to the car's originality and completeness. UNDERSIDE: This Camaro has a very solid, honest underside that has been serviced and restored as needed over the years. The floors have been verified as original and appear rock solid, still wearing their original dealer applied undercoating. The car was recently inspected, we replaced the rear springs, bushings and shackles along with subframe bushings. Just prior to our acquisition a new fuel tank, shocks, and a correct reproduction Gardner dual exhaust system was installed. The brakes are functioning properly, and the e-brake system remains hooked up and operational. Looking up at the drivetrain, the engine is clean Chevy orange, backed by an original 1967 Turbo 400 automatic transmission and a 12-bolt rear end. SERVICE: We take pride in our cars and our reputation. Every vehicle goes through our service department where it is inspected, test driven, and we address the essentials before offering it for sale. CONCLUSION: Don't underestimate how special this Camaro really is. The certification adds confidence for you today and the next owner tomorrow. Beyond its investment potential, it's a stunning Tuxedo Black convertible that can be driven, shown, and enjoyed. Opportunities to own a Camaro of this caliber don't come along very often.
