Roland D-20: The 8-track Sequencer
#Roland #D20 #8track_sequencer Hi guys! Back in 1987 I got my first Roland synthesizer, the D-20. As a 15 year old kid I was in heaven. Yeah...it wasn't the magical D-50 but the best part was that it had a sequencer. You were able to record multiple tracks, a rhythm track and you could even trigger external machines. Soon I discovered that you could change the sounds of the rhythm kit with self created sounds. Now I was able to create musical patterns also. The downside of the sequencer was the fact that you couldn't copy or cut parts of your recordings. So you had to play it all. But with this nifty trick it became easier to create electronic repetitive sequences. Ah...it also had a REPEAT mode and you could mute tracks. So, basically you could create a complete track with just a 16-bar loop. Anyway, here a quick and messy video about the 8-track sequencer of the Roland D-20. Thanks for watching!
