Introduction to Neuroscience 2: Lecture 21:Decision making and executive function

How does our brain make choices? In this lecture, we learn about what we know so far the neural mechanisms that underlie decision making and executive function. Much of this lecture is on the role of the prefrontal cortex, primarily in primates, including humans. We learn about the neural mechanisms behind evaluation, cognitive challenge, and exploitation versus exploratory behavior. We also learn about the role of the default mode network.
