An Unforgettable Duet with Living Human Treasure Master Mehmet BEDEL 😍 During my visit to Mehmet BEDEL, a prominent figure from Burdur, the capital of the Teke region and also known as the lake region, whose sipsi, cura, and two-stringed bağlama have captured the hearts of many, we had wonderful moments and crowned those moments by singing folk songs. I am happy to share these beautiful folk songs with you. 😍 Who is Mehmet BEDEL? Mehmet Bedel was born in 1964 in Aziziye village of Burdur. He learned sipsi making and playing from his father. Having trained many apprentices with his traditional knowledge, Bedel has participated in numerous festivals and celebrations both domestically and internationally, and has also been the subject of academic studies. Mehmet Bedel, who owns a private collection of various musical instruments, has transformed part of his home into a museum to raise public awareness about the making and playing of the sipsi (a type of Turkish wind instrument). In this first video, we played and sang a beautiful folk song from the Erzurum region, accompanied by the kaval (a type of flute) and bağlama (another Turkish wind instrument). ❤️ Folk Song: Where is My Highland?
