The Ninja Warriors(Arcade) - 1CC

Here is a 1cc replay of The Ninja Warriors on the Arcade that i recorded about a month ago. This is a beat em up game released in 1987 and it does remind me of Kung Fu on the NES(or Kung Fu Master on Arcade) but with more abilities on your disposal. Such as blocks, throwing ninja stars and flipping dodges. This is one of those Taito's three screen wide games so it is also unique in that regard. The first time i played this game, i absolutely get murdered lol. Hitboxes felt quite janky and the first ninja enemy just destroyed me because of it. This did annoy me a bit but the gameplay itself was enjoyable so i decided to learn the game more. The key to success in this game is learning how to specificaly deal with each enemy type. For example to defeat the humpback enemies, you have to move towards them while ducking which force them to jump over you. Then you can turn back and hit them multiple times. Or to defeat the masked ninjas, you need to know their 2 AIs. One is passive AI and the other is aggressive. When they are using their passive AI they won't try to attack you unless you press the attack button so the best approach is just keep walking towards them and they won't do anything to you. Until they change their AI to aggressive. When they are in aggressive AI flip over them and hit them from behind. Hardest part about the game is final stage. You pretty much need to speedrun it otherwise you will run out of time and die lol. That stage also has a couple different paths that lead to a dead end so you have to memorize the stage. One interesting thing about this stage is there is no final boss. But rather you have to kill the mace guy while you are being swarmed by soldiers from both sides. And Bangler(main villain of the game) runs away. After you pass the mace guy, Bangler gets cornered by you and begs for you to not kill him lol. If you turn your back, he pulls out his gun and tries to shoot you which is not seen in this video. Honestly pretty unique and satisfying way to end the game despite the lack of a boss. This game is quite impressive for 1987. Overall i think this is a fun game IF you are willing to learn the game despite the janky hitboxes. Gameplay is simple but fun, requires quick decision making which i love. Timestamps: Stage 1: 0:06 Stage 2: 3:03 Stage 3: 6:17 Stage 4: 9:51 Stage 5: 13:17 Stage 6: 17:35 Ending: 22:28
