Today I'll talk about lubricating switches for mechanical keyboards and share a few tips that will help you save money. You will need the following for lubrication: Krytox 205g0 for stem and housing lubrication Fine synthetic brush Krytox 105g0 for spring lubrication Screwdriver or switch opener for opening the switches Stem holder for convenient stem lubrication I also recommend having a container to store housings and other switch components. Personally, I use boxes from Akko or Gateron switches. I don't consider it reasonable to buy a separate lubrication station that costs 1500 rubles. It's better to spend that money on the keyboard itself. I can finish a 65% keyboard in about 2.5 hours. Not fast, but thorough. Today, I'll be lubricating Akko Cream Yellow V3 switches with Borrom Housing made of polyamide. This material creates an excellent muted sound. The stem is made of POM plastic, making it more resonant. Start by lubricating the bottom housings. Lubricate the sliders and, if desired, the surrounding area, but not the inside. Disassemble the switch, lubricate both sides of the slider, and reassemble. For spring lubrication, use Krytox 105g0. Add a few drops to the bag, inflate it, and shake it for about a minute to evenly distribute the lubricant on the springs. Lubricate the stems by applying a thin layer to all sides: stem rails and feet. It's important to note that this is only done on linear switches; it's not recommended for tactile switches. Optionally, you can lubricate the top housing for a smoother sound on stem return. Apply a thin layer to the contact point between the stem and the top housing. After lubrication, perform a sound comparison test without lubricant and with lubricant to determine if you like the result. ------------ Honorable Mention ------------ Shooting and Editing - https://vk.com/trusty11 ------------ Time-codes ------------ 0:00 - What you need for lubing 1:11 - Akko V3 Cream Yellow Switch 1:34 - Which lube to choose 1:46 - Lubing Bottom Housing of Switches 2:43 - Lubing springs 3:22 - Lubing Stem 4:21 - Lubing Top Housing 5:32 - Bye-Bye Words (SUBSCRIBE) 5:55 - Different lubing Typing Test
