Lebanese Forces supporters protest party leader’s summoning
The leader of a Christian political party called The Lebanese Forces has refused to testify on recent violence in Beirut. Samir Geagea was due to appear at the army intelligence building but said he will not until the leader of Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah, is also summoned. The growing tension between The Lebanese Forces and Hezbollah, and its ally Amal, has raised fears of renewed sectarian violence. Seven Shia Muslims were killed in fighting earlier this month.
