10 Products Dermatologists Say Are STEALING Your Money
A federal court approved a nine-point-two-million-dollar settlement against a skincare line at Sephora — because the product's own name named an ingredient it did not contain. That brand is still on the shelf. Most shoppers assume the prestige skincare brands sold at Sephora, Ulta, and Target have earned their price tags. Dermatologist names on the jar. "Medical grade" on the label. Clinical-sounding packaging. Billions of dollars in marketing that says these products do things cheaper ones cannot. But when you pull up the court filings, the FTC complaints, the ingredient lists, and the acquisition prices — some of the most recognizable beauty brands in America start looking very different. One of them settled a federal lawsuit for putting a collagen claim in its product name. Another had its CEO caught directing employees to write their own Sephora reviews, using a VPN, for two years. A third charges three hundred and forty-five dollars per ounce for a cream whose brand describes its own manufacturing process using the words "light, sound, and intuition." All ten are still on shelves. Many of them are owned by the same handful of conglomerates. We are naming those companies, the prices they paid, and the drugstore alternatives that do the same job. Some of these brands are sold at every Sephora in the country. A few are household names. But once you look at how they are formulated, what their own labels actually disclose, and what federal regulators have said about them, the differences between the story on the jar and what is inside become much harder to defend. And one of these products is produced by a pharmaceutical giant whose own press release admits the jar meets the legal definition of a cosmetic — the same category as a twelve-dollar drugstore moisturizer. In this video, you will discover: which prestige skincare brands have been taken to federal court — and what they were actually selling the ingredient a brand named its product after, that was never in the jar the CEO who personally directed employees to write five-star reviews on Sephora the physics rule that makes "pro-collagen" creams biologically impossible which conglomerates own the brands you trust — and how many of them share the same parent the drugstore alternatives that do the same job for a fraction of the price The most surprising part? One of the biggest pharmaceutical companies in America — the one that makes Botox — now owns a skincare brand whose own parent company confirmed, in writing, that the product is a cosmetic. Then priced the jar at two hundred and ninety-five dollars. The name of the brand, and why that single word on the label is worth more than any active ingredient in it, is waiting for you. --- #LuxurySkincare #SkincareDupes #MedicalGradeSkincare If you want to know what the labels on your bathroom shelf are actually saying — and which brands are worth your trust — subscribe to Face Value and turn on notifications.
