Engine Room Smoke & Spring Gale | EP 49 | MV Makena Kai The weather is a bit sketchy on this first weekend in April 2022 but we have a rendezvous to meet up with some family from Vancouver. We meet about halfway at Montague Harbour on Galiano Island. Saturday morning is beautiful so we head out for a walk. Issues develop in the engine compartment overnight resulting in a smoky situation. Sunday's trip home is a bit challenged by an Spring gale. About Us MV Makena Kai is a cruising style boating channel involving adventure, raising children and challenges that take place aboard a cruising type boat. We showcase geographical areas in the Pacific Northwest (Northern Puget Sound) and Southwest British Columbia (Vancouver Island/inside passage). One day we hope to travel much further to Alaska and beyond.
