Forgot to mention TOWING Capacity: Although the same engine, torque, weight and frame, the LX and LC have different towing capacity. This is because of the suspension. THe LX was rated for 8000 when it first came out, then downgraded to 7000. This is because the AHC when under too much load, will go into safety mode and drop to the Low level, which is not safe for highways. The Landcruiser is rated for 8500 with its fixed suspension. Also for off roading, the KDSS is far superior, allowing for decoupling of the sway bars when off road, enabling the wheels to hang low in a dip or tuck in high in the wheel well. So towing is a major consideration between these two as well as aggressive off roading on terrain that is more than just a fire road.
