Philippine literature vibes, new books, meeting fellow readers at the National Youth Literary Fest

I booked an airplane ticket from Cebu to Tacloban, Leyte Philippines to attend the National Youth Literary Festival 2026. "It is a celebration of Philippine literary arts held last 17-19 June 2026 at UP Tacloban. Organized by UP Tacloban's Division of Humanities in partnership with the National Commission for Culture and Arts (NCCA), the festival gathers young writers, scholars, students, and literary practitioners from across the country for a vibrant exchange of creativity, learning, and ideas. Through workshops, talks, readings, and performances, the festival highlights the breadth of Philippine literary traditions, placing national currents in conversation with local expression particularly in Waray and Cebuano. It provides a platform where languages, forms, and perspectives meet, enriching the collective literary imagination. Beyond celebration, Pagsaribo han Panuratan foregrounds literature as craft and profession.
