My Worst Plastering Disaster Ever! (It All Fell Off!)

After nearly 30 years on the trowel, I thought I’d seen it all… until this job. I was skimming a very awkward landing ceiling at height when, halfway through, the fresh plaster started peeling away and crashing back down. Multi Finish everywhere. Ceiling ruined. Absolute carnage. After a bit of investigating, I found the culprit… DISTEMPER. The old coating was stopping the plaster from bonding properly, so there was only one thing for it: wash the whole lot off, prep it properly, and come back on a Saturday to do the entire job again.
