Giovanni Antonio Orrù: "Maria Maddalena: l'Apostola degli Apostoli"

Florence, Libreria Salvemini - June 5, 2026: Giovanni Antonio Orrù presented his third nonfiction book, "Mary Magdalene: The Apostle of the Apostles," published by Libreria Salvemini. With "Mary Magdalene," the author concludes his fascinating and moving exploration of early Christianity. As with "Thou Shalt Not Muzzle the Ox that Treads" and "Saul of Tarsus," this work was also fundamentally conducted with a historical-anthropological-structuralist approach, based on objectively verifiable facts and a careful analysis of the communication produced in various texts, or in linguistic, pictorial, and other works, and verifiable through archaeological, mythological, and scientific data. In a deliberately unconventional approach, the book's intention was to fully restore to the "Apostle of the Apostles" the dimension and merits obscured in Roman times and unfortunately reaffirmed over the long passage of time. In short, these justifiable accolades have already been quietly appreciated by so much authoritative literature and fine art, and, not least, by so many enlightened leaders of the Church, including Saint Augustine, Saint Bede, Saint Jerome, Saint Thomas Aquinas, among others... and, ultimately, the farsighted Pope Francis, who beatified her on July 22, 2016.
