Urban Sketch in 10 Minutes - Make 'Complicated' REALLY EASY!

Perhaps my face, perhaps my watercolour palette, or some close ups of my process! This scene is incredibly complicated - so many shadows, people, flashes of light, details, perspective. Everything that's scary to sketch, right? Well never fear, just simplify! Here we focus on pen techniques that 'suggest' detail, making a scene look like a really intricate sketch, when really it's just a simple collection of lines and shapes. From these lines and shapes evolves something beautiful. After this we splash on some colours - the exact colours aren't important - what's fun here is the beauty of letting our colours do their thing! We add on a range of complimentary colours, moving them about the page, with plenty of water - and hey presto a beautiful glaze of colour emerges. At the end we really add some punches of strong colours - bringing out key details and highlighting the figures we've sketched too.
