Noxus is a powerful empire, whose reputation is a source of legitimate concern to other nations. People living outside its borders see it as a bloodthirsty and sprawling empire that is a threat to all others, but those who can see past its warlike exterior will see an extraordinarily open society that respects and nurtures the abilities and talents of all its inhabitants. The forefathers of the Noxians, the Noxini, were fierce barbarian tribes who one day took over the ancient city that now lies at the heart of their territory. With opponents threatening them on all sides, they decided to aggressively take the fight to their enemies, pushing their borders further and further with each passing year. This struggle for survival has made the modern Noxians an immensely proud people who value strength above all else - and strength can take many different forms. Anyone can take up a position of power and respect in Nox if they demonstrate the necessary abilities - regardless of social status, background, birthplace or wealth. Those who are capable of wielding magic are held in high esteem and are in active demand so that their special talents can be developed to perfection and put to the best possible use for the benefit of the realm.
