Britain's Darkest Taboos tells the stories of some of the most shocking and disturbing crimes within families and relationships. Ross Taggart dialed 999 on the 23rd December 2014 to report his mum Carol missing. After over two weeks of the family being in turmoil, Carol's body was found and her son is charged with her murder. Ross murdered his mother at the family home and then buried her body under a caravan. In the days after murdering his mum, he goes clubbing and pawns his mother's jewellery as the rest of her family and friends are concerned about Carol's whereabouts. Carol's family reveal how Ross was his mum's golden boy and how he slowly began isolating her from the rest of the family. Former Detective Superintendent David Swindle and psychologist Emma Kenny examine how a son could commit such a callous act and then carry on as normal.
