Aslan, la nueva cría de león marino del Oceanogràfic de Valencia

Valencia, August 30 (EFE) - Aslan is the "clumsy but healthy and strong" sea lion pup born earlier this month weighing 14 kilos at the Oceanogràfic in Valencia and now weighing more than 23 kilos. The newborn was presented to the media this Friday alongside his mother, Janis, at the new "Pink Beach" facility. Little Aslan, named after the central character in "The Chronicles of Narnia," was born in the early hours of August 6 and is experiencing "spectacular development," proving to be "an insatiable glutton and a skilled apprentice swimmer," according to the Oceanogràfic in the City of Arts and Sciences. The head of the aquarium's sea lion department, Jero Coello, explained that this is the second time the mother has given birth, in an "unbeatable delivery," during which she cut the calf's umbilical cord and breastfed it from the very beginning.
