Bandoneón Tutorial: The Iniciales by Rodolfo Daluisio - Inicial 2

Welcome to the second tutorial in our series on the Iniciales by Rodolfo Daluisio! In this video, we take a closer look at Inicial II, the second of the twelve foundational exercises created by Daluisio to help you build solid, reliable bandoneon technique right from the beginning. Like Inicial I, this exercise is part of the first group of Iniciales — the ones focused on developing a continuous, uninterrupted line of sound. This time we move to A minor (Aeolian mode), with no accidentals, and we introduce a small rhythmic change: the dotted quarter note. The goal remains the same: to achieve an even, consistent, and resonant sound while applying the quiet-hand principle. Train the hand to stay relaxed and precise in both directions. At the end of each phrase, we also prepare the next hand position to keep the movement smooth and intentional. Finally, play Inicial II at an andante tempo and with strong or very strong intensity.
