Together SC Leadership Team Interest Webinar

This was a kickoff session for potential leadership team members interested in serving Together SC's peer network leadership team. Heather Singleton, the peer network manager, presented an overview of the peer network structure, which includes eight unique networks (Advocacy Allies, Black Nonprofit Leaders, Consultant Collaborative, Development, Marketing, Operations, and Volunteer Administrator Alliance) designed to provide professional development and peer-to-peer support for nonprofit leaders across South Carolina. Maurice Lawyer, co-chair of the Black Nonprofit Leaders Peer Network, shared his personal journey from charter member to co-chair, highlighting how Together SC helped his foundation grow and thrive in Jasper County. Heather outlined the leadership team structure, which includes two co-chairs and 5-8 team members per network, emphasizing the importance of geographic, racial, and professional diversity. She described the ideal candidate as someone already engaged with the networks who can commit approximately 20 hours per year for a full two-year term. Karen, President and CEO of Together SC, emphasized how the peer networks serve as "the secret sauce" that distinguishes Together SC from other state associations and directly drives their programming based on member input.
