Energy Transition Boom Triggered by Large-Scale Battery Storage! The transition to sustainable energy solutions is no longer a secret and must be pursued openly and decisively. Given the current geopolitical situation and the increasing urgency of replacing fossil fuels, it is crucial that we focus on renewable energies and efficient energy storage solutions. Photovoltaics (PV), wind power, and large-scale battery storage are key technologies in the energy transition. When used optimally, they offer a sustainable and cost-effective energy supply. This means that investments in these areas are not only ecologically sound but also economically viable – like a "money-printing machine." Large-scale battery storage systems absorb excess energy from the grid and release it again when needed. Absurd, pseudo-solutions, such as gigantic gas pipelines built as a "bridging technology" for decades, as well as bureaucratic hurdles from the Federal Network Agency, have delayed the implementation of these solutions. Destructive forces from centralized energy providers and lobbyists from politics, business, and administration have thus delayed the energy solution by more than a decade. The hydrogen car is also an attempt to stall us, to keep the combustion engine in business for another ten years and to further restrict green electricity for another decade. Nuclear power plants and hydrogen are intended to postpone and replace the imminent transformation to sustainable electrification. Such delays trigger a whole host of further problems, including along the nuclear chain. Today, Germany lags far behind in development and continues to lose ground. Photovoltaics, battery technology, and electric cars are now only imported on a large scale. Nevertheless, the investments are worthwhile, because current policies have made fossil fuel imports, at best, overpriced but declining. It is foreseeable that Germany's dependence on fossil fuels will end in fifteen years... if policymakers promote this development and don't thwart it again. Photovoltaics, battery storage, and grid management make the purchase of PV systems with storage a lucrative investment for all users. This applies not only to centralized power plants and large industrial facilities, but also to grandma's little house or even balcony solar installations, which were prohibited until recently. For experts, they are the crucial building block in the energy transition. Tired of the general wrangling over the introduction and phase-out of renewable energy, enormous demand for wind and solar PV has developed, making nuclear power plants look outdated. ------ By Peter Sauer, SR ... The roller shutter manufacturer Lakal from Saarlouis in Saarland produces a large portion of its own electricity needs – with a large photovoltaic system on the roof. To be able to use the energy generated more extensively, the company also installed a battery storage system a year and a half ago. This allows operations to continue for up to two hours, even when the sun isn't shining. More storage capacity is needed According to Christof Bauer, the problem is not yet very serious because Germany can still export a lot of electricity from renewable energy sources to France or Poland. Currently, this is very expensive. Meanwhile, electricity demand is rising. As a result, last year, for the first time in 20 years, Germany imported more electricity from abroad than it exported. #EnergyTransition #LargeBatteryStorage #PVStorage #Photovoltaics #GridStability #RenewableEnergies #EnergyFuture #ElectricityStorage #EnergyPolicy #ClimateProtection #DecentralizedEnergy #WindPower #SolarEnergy #Electromobility #GreenTech #EnergyStorage #GridManagement #PVSystem #EnergyEfficiency #SustainableEnergy A Day with Karl Lagerfeld & Fendi Energy Transition: Large-Scale Battery Storage is Booming Status: February 8, 2025, 5:03 PM Important Note Regarding Legal Use: The uploads from politics, economics, music, and entertainment are subject to fair use regulations.
