The act was staged by Kurt Frindt and the doll character was played by his son Horst Frindt. Horst was not naturally flexible, in 1981 when they retired Horst was already 46 years old. By the end of his performing carrier Horst worked with his wife as a duo. The black face golliwog was replaced by a character based on Bert and Ernie from Sesame Street.
