Amazing 120cm Aquascape Setup (2026) | 150 Days Start to Finish (Cinematic)
This is the complete record of a 150-day journey to create a 120cm aquascape, beginning in the still-chilly season on January 12, 2026. At its core are vines and wood gathered from my own garden, thoughtfully structured alongside Fuzan stone. Following a 41-day Dry Start Method, flooding the tank brought the inevitable trials of nature: unexpected floating driftwood and an outbreak of cyanobacteria, a notorious enemy of aquascapes. My chosen solution was diligent manual removal. By utilizing Brazilian Pennywort to absorb excess nutrients, and committing to the steady, seemingly monotonous rhythm of maintenance, true nature slowly took root within the glass. 150 days later—please watch until the very end to witness the path that led to the scenery I had always envisioned. *Please turn on "Subtitles (CC)" in the top right settings to enjoy behind-the-scenes insights and layout commentary. ⏱️ Timestamps 00:00 Opening 00:12 ZEROAQUAch Presents 00:36 The Beginning 01:07 Hardscaping 06:01 Hardscape completed 06:42 Attaching weeping moss 09:43 The chopped Rotala method 11:55 Planting Monte Carlo 12:56 Starting the Dry Start Method 14:57 Dry Start Completed 17:30 Planting aquatic plants 18:40 The Cyanobacteria Outbreak 21:44 Introducing the Fish 22:34 Approaching the Final Form 26:05 Completed 【Aquascape Data】 ■ Tank Size: 120 × 50 × 50 cm (273L) ■ Hardscape Materials: Pruned wood and vines from the garden / Driftwood / Fuzan Stone ■ Aquatic Plants Used: ・Weeping Moss ・Various Rotala species ・Micranthemum Tweediei 'Monte Carlo' ・Bolbitis Heudelotii ・Various Bucephalandra species ・Brazilian Pennywort (Hydrocotyle leucocephala) ・Vallisneria Erecta ■ CO2 Injection: 2-3 drops per second ■ Liquid Fertilizer Management: Dosed during water changes, keeping potassium, minerals, and iron slightly below standard levels to restrict excess nutrients.
