The trinity of the feminine – Maiden, Mother, and Crown – has survived in the English-speaking world, albeit in a significantly diminished form. However, very few of the rites and their underlying themes remain. Yet, the activation of the sacred codes of various aspects of the Mother Goddess is crucial for every woman. They significantly determine her destiny, her body image, her sexuality, her relationships, and the abundance in her life. This knowledge has been well preserved in East Slavic culture. It was often interwoven with Christian customs, as the East Slavic Church, as is well known, tolerated much more dualism – the new and the old faith. And this old faith was based on the high regard and appreciation of the feminine principle. The activation of the millennia-old archetypes of the feminine is essential, because otherwise, feminine nature cannot ignite. Woman is crippled, circumcised, trapped in stereotypical roles and programs. Here are the four most important initiatory phases for women, marked by corresponding rituals: Lelnik – Initiation into the energies of the spring goddess Lelja (in this region known as Ostara or Nertus) Lada – Marriage, motherhood Makosh – Mature womanhood, spiritual calling, service to society Baba Yaga/Yaginya – Initiator into the mysteries and guardian between the worlds Mara – Transcendent sage, preparation for death and rebirth
