In this video, we bring you the full video test of the MG HS 2025, the second generation of one of the most competitive compact SUVs on the market. We've thoroughly tested it to tell you everything you need to know: from the exterior and interior design to the dynamic handling, equipment, space, trunk space, available engine versions, and, of course, the actual prices with and without financing. From the very first moment, the new MG HS 2025 surprised us with a more mature aesthetic, a ride quality far superior to what we expected, and technology that raises the bar compared to the previous generation, but still lags a step behind in the segment. Inside, we find two 12.3" screens, new finishes, and a more functional design, although with some areas for improvement that we will also discuss with you in complete transparency. In this test, we got behind the wheel of the 170-hp 1,500 turbo gasoline version with a dual-clutch automatic transmission, and its driving dynamics pleasantly surprised us. Despite being a family SUV, it handles much more smoothly than we expected, offering precise steering, comfortable suspension, and a well-tuned transmission. All of this gives us a sense of confidence that we don't always find in new Chinese cars. In addition, we thoroughly analyzed its roominess, the spaciousness of the rear seats (which is truly generous), the quality of the materials, and the details of the Luxury trim, such as the electric and heated seats, the 360-degree camera, and wireless charging. We also reviewed the trunk capacity, which at 507 liters is very good. In terms of engines, we explain the differences between the gasoline version and the hybrid variant. MG EHS plug-in hybrid, which starts at around €36,700 but is eligible for the Moves Plan, remaining at a truly competitive price for a PHEV with good electric range. If you're thinking of buying a cheap, spacious, and well-equipped SUV, the 2025 MG HS could be a very interesting option. Is the gasoline or plug-in hybrid more worthwhile?
