The place is named as Ramatirtha as it is believed that in Trethaya yuga Lord Rama along with Devi Sita & Brother Laxman during their 14 Years of exile visited this place and the feet mark of Lord Rama is found on the rock situted in the bed of Khairi Bhandan River.
