Paying for Climate Change: Who Bears the Responsibility?

As part of UC Berkeley Law's Center for Law, Energy & the Environment's (CLEE's) ongoing Future of Oil and Gas webinar series, this panel discussion held on June 11, 2026, focused on the impacts of climate change and the role of litigation and "polluter pays" policies in mitigating these impacts. We discussed mechanisms to price risk, and who should bear the cost for climate-driven extreme weather events such as wildfires, hurricanes, and floods.
