Many of these species are actually invasive tropical fishes that are able to live here yearround at 29°C. They found guppies, Endler's livebearers, mollies, convict cichlids, Malawi cichlids (Pseudotropheus socolofi or powder blue cichlid), guppy grass, ducks, red jewel cichlids (Hemichromis genus), ghost shrimp, self-cloning crayfish, and goldfish. This location often attracts local children who come to feed and catch the fish for fun. However, the water is tinted bluish-gray, perhaps from dissolved lime, so the fish do not fare well when taken home to normal tap water. It was such a unique experience getting to soak in the warm water, feed them by hand, and feel them nibbling on our legs.
