Update: I do apologize for having the wrong LP cover uploaded, at the time I was under the impression that this was the 1974 version when in fact it's the 1956 version from album entitled "The Shearing Spell" Again, sorry for the confusion! A wonderfully said comment in regards to George Shearing's Autumn in New York: When I hear this work, I can remember when I lived in my beloved New York. I lived on CPW and when autumn came, I would see the trees in Central Park changing color from red to gold to gone. Collars would begin to turn-up, and coats would be buttoned tightly. Then, after walking those cold blocks, you would duck into a small, intimate cocktail lounge or café, and listen to George Shearing play Autumn in New York. It's how memories are made - 555kappock Autumn in New York Why does it seem so inviting Autumn in New York It spells the thrill of first nighting Glittering crowds And shimmering clouds In canyons of steel They're making me feel, I'm home It's autumn in New York That brings the promise of new love Autumn in New York Is often mingled with pain Dreamers with empty hands They sigh for exotic lands It's autumn in New York It's good to live it again Lovers that bless the dark On the benches in central park Greet autumn in New York It's good to live it again Autumn in New York It's good to live it again
