As minibus operators push for a new formula to determine bus fares, Prime Minister Philip J. Pierre is warning that transportation reform is rarely as simple as following expert recommendations. While acknowledging the findings of a Caribbean Development Bank study, the Prime Minister says governments must also weigh the political and social consequences of any changes. At the same time, he says efforts are underway to address longstanding transportation challenges affecting commuters and workers across the island.
