In February 2021, Mar del Plata made headlines for the incredible theft of barrels containing beer that was macerating underwater at a depth of 20 meters. The incident took place in La Restinga de Punta Mogotes, a resting place for shipwrecks from the early 20th century. The project was to make a collaborative beer, with the proceeds donated to the Lorenzo Scaglia Natural Science Museum. But things didn't go as planned.
