How To Do A Tripod Head Stand I Yoga Tutorial
Today's pose is a Tripod Head stand. Keep reading for key alignment tips! STEP 1. Come down to all fours and spread your hands so you can see the mat between each finger. STEP 2. Position your knees right behind the heel of your wrists so your knees touch your wrists. STEP 3. Bring your head down to the floor in front of your hands. STEP 4. Tuck your toes and lift your knees off the floor. STEP 5. Make sure you can see your fingertips before going any further. If you can't, walk your hands back and make it happen. STEP 6. Keep your thumb and index finger glued down to the mat as you pull the shoulders down away from the ears. STEP 7. Pull your elbows toward each other as you isometrically press your fingers forward. Remember not to lift your thumb and index finger. STEP 8. Stay here building your neck muscles or manually walk your knees up into your arm pits. STEP 9. Stay and breathe or keep going by keeping your big toes together and flexing your feet. STEP 10. Keep your butt squeezed and press the heels of your feet up towards an imaginary wall. STEP 11. Come down the same way you went up or simply bring the legs down one at a time. STEP 12. Don't forget that, without your foundation, the pose will come crumbling down.
