Bismillah, An Inspirational Story and the Miracle of Hijrah How does it feel to leave a well-paying job, a secure position, and a seemingly secure future in search of a more halal livelihood? This is the story of Mr. Andri, a chicken egg and grocery store owner in Sumedang who spent decades working for one of the largest usurious financial institutions in Indonesia. From the outside, his life seemed perfect. His permanent employee status, good income, and prestigious job led many to consider him successful. However, beneath all this, a lingering anxiety plagued his heart and mind. As part of his work, Mr. Andri often found himself in situations that left him unsettled. Demands for targets and bonuses required him to collect outstanding payments from customers, even when they were facing difficult economic times. It was at this point that fear of Allah, guilt, and a strong desire to improve himself emerged. Guidance then arrived. With the support of his wife and the advice of his grandmother, who always reminded him to seek halal sustenance, even if it wasn't much, Mr. Andri decided to leave his job. However, the journey to hijrah (migration) wasn't easy. To resign, he was required to settle his obligations to the company, totaling hundreds of millions of rupiah. To realize his intention to hijrah, Mr. Andri sold his personal car and motorcycle. Unfortunately, the proceeds from the sale were still insufficient, leaving him with a shortfall of approximately Rp 60 million. That's when God's help came. Through a friend who knew about his struggle to hijrah, God provided a way out he never expected. The friend lent him the necessary funds, allowing Mr. Andri to finally fulfill his obligations and leave his job. However, after resigning, new challenges awaited. Mr. Andri was unsure about what kind of work to do to support his family. However, he had one thing in mind: whatever the job, the important thing was that it was halal. He started from the bottom, selling coffee at the morning market. Despite facing ridicule and scorn, Mr. Andri persevered and patiently pursued his business. Then, God's help came in an unexpected way. God brought him into contact with a group of entrepreneurs who had converted to Islam and built businesses without interest and upheld the spirit of mutual assistance. It was from this group that Mr. Andri found the opportunity to start a laying hen business. Despite lacking experience, knowledge, or significant capital, there were people who sincerely guided and helped him get started. Mr. Andri began raising 500 laying hens. About two months later, the hens began producing tens of kilograms of eggs daily. However, a new problem arose: Mr. Andri was unsure where to sell the eggs. Once again, God's help was evident. Through the entrepreneurs who guided him, customers who had previously purchased eggs from him were directed to buy from Mr. Andri. This is a rare sight in the business world, where others are willing to share their customers to help their brothers grow. The miracle of hijrah didn't stop there. Another businessman then suggested that Mr. Andri not only sell eggs but also supplement his business with rice and various other basic necessities. When Mr. Andri asked where he should get the capital, the businessman offered extraordinary assistance. Various basic necessities were sent to stock his shop without requiring any upfront payment.
