Indications: Treatment of a wide range of worm infections, such as Ascaris lumbricoides (roundworms), Trichuris trichiura (whipworms), Hookworms, Taenia solium (pork tapeworm), and Echinococcus (hydatid cysts). Can also treat neurocysticercosis caused by Taenia solium larvae. 2. Mebendazole Mechanism: Like albendazole, mebendazole interferes with microtubule formation in the parasite’s cells, leading to its death. Indications: Effective against roundworms, whipworms, hookworms, and pinworms. Often used in the treatment of Enterobius vermicularis (pinworm) infections. 3. Ivermectin Mechanism: Ivermectin binds to glutamate-gated chloride channels in the worm, causing paralysis and death of the parasite.
