After Leonard has been given increased amount of drug L-Dopa, he improves enough to be released from locked confinement ward and is allowed to mix with other patients again. Lucy sings a song she sang when she was 22 yrs old ... and although she now knows what year it is (1969), she expresses the need for it to be 1926 again. Leonard's condition worsens so much, despite his medication being increased; his mother asks the hospital to take him completely off the medication.
