Meeting Jordan’s Cave Dwellers - The Indigenous Bedouins of Petra! 🇯🇴
The Bedouins, the nomadic peoples of southern Jordan, have lived off the land for thousands of years. Today, we'll be exploring the lives of the Bedouins that live in the caves of Petra. Petra is an ancient city that is full of caves/mountains and is classified as one of the 7 wonders of the world. Before 1984, there were thousands of Bedouins that lived in the caves of Petra. However, the government kicked them out in order to bring in tourism to Petra. When the Bedouins were kicked out, they were forced to live in villages near Petra. The last few minutes of the video involve a Bedouin speaking about the situation the Bedouins are going through.
