Catching Sweetheart: Australia’s Most Notorious Boat-Flipping Crocodile | Part 1 Documentary
This documentary film was produced by Australian art and film studio Wild Creek®. This film contains licensed audio, imagery, and artistic works. This film documents the capture of Sweetheart, a giant rogue saltwater crocodile responsible for attacking more than a dozen boats in the Finniss River system outside Darwin in Australia’s Northern Territory during the 1970s. Despite the name, Sweetheart was a 5.1 metre male saltwater crocodile and an immense powerhouse. The animal became notorious for repeatedly attacking boats, capsizing vessels and destroying outboard motors. Through interviews and historical accounts, Wild Creek tracks down the men who were there, those who encountered Sweetheart firsthand, and explores the long standing notion of another crocodile in the region, Cassius. Credits appear at the end of the film. Any additional acknowledgements or corrections will be published here.
