In Baja California and Baja California Sur, we are witnessing the results of the Comprehensive Welfare Plan for Mulegé and Isla de Cedros. We are currently serving more than 16,000 people through initiatives in education, health, and housing, among other areas. This initiative anticipates a total investment of more than 1.6 billion pesos between 2022 and 2023, allocated to the implementation of the Welfare Programs. It also includes the modernization of roads and highways, housing improvements, and the rehabilitation of drinking water networks. A year and a half into its implementation, we have benefited this area, historically neglected by previous administrations. On Isla de Cedros, for example, the federal government is contributing 15 million pesos to the Welfare Programs, benefiting 752 people. We committed to creating a higher education institution on Cedros Island, and we will therefore instruct the relevant authorities to work towards establishing the Benito Juárez García University for Well-being. As a measure to ensure job security for teachers, we reiterate that the Government of Mexico will address their requests for permanent positions. We reaffirm that the federal government will not privatize the state-owned salt exporting company, contrary to the intentions of previous administrations during the neoliberal period; we guarantee its honest management under the premise of zero tolerance for corruption.
