Hoka Rincon After 100 Miles
With Houston Marathon recovery wrapping up and Boston Marathon Training heating up, I take the Hoka One One Rincon for a 15 mile run, and with today's miles, I was able to cross the 100 mile mark in these fast long run day shoes. I was instantly impressed with this shoe when I first got them, and I'm still enjoying them today. They do feel like there's been a bit of wear in the midsole. There's also quite a bit of visual wear due to the amount of exposed EVA foam there is, but it's nowhere near as bad as it looks (not that it looks all that bad). The upper has been holding up well, and some initial snugness or blistering has resolved itself as an issue. It's definitely a snug fit, but it is appropriate for this shoe's intended use. Overall, I'm a fan of the Rincon and I think Hoka has a real hit on their hands. The Miles per Dollar warriors out there might complain that the shoe doesn't quite last as long as others, but the starting price on these shoes is a bit lower. But most importantly, it's not necessarily a daily trainer, and so for me, the shoe is holding up over time in a manner consistent with a shoe that you can train and race in. Thanks for watching!
