The history of treatment and rehabilitation for people with cerebral palsy within the framework of modern medicine spans over 150 years. What has changed from the late 19th century to today? What has influenced ideas about optimal rehabilitation? How do the classic post-Soviet rehabilitation model and modern care models coexist in our country today? And how do families raising a child with cerebral palsy try to develop the optimal rehabilitation route in real-life situations? Ekaterina Klochkova, physician, physical therapist, and director of the Physical Rehabilitation NGO, will answer these and other questions at a seminar on medical anthropology. Ekaterina Klochkova has been working with children with motor and multiple disabilities and their families for over 25 years. She conducts supervision and professional development programs for staff, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, and physical and social rehabilitation specialists.
