My Bike Felt Wrong… Then I Found the Problem

After a full fork and shock service, my Specialized Kenevo should have felt amazing… but something still felt wrong. The suspension settings had changed, the bike felt harsh and awkward and I spent several rides trying to work out whether it was the fork, shock, tyres or general setup. Then I realised the problem was much simpler: I’d put a 10mm spacer above the stem instead of below it. That meant my bar height was around 10mm lower than normal and I could really feel it on steep, fast Golfie trails. Once I moved the spacer back under the stem, the bike immediately felt better and I ended up setting two PBs on the same ride. This was a proper real-world reminder that tiny setup changes can make a big difference on an MTB. 📍 Location: Innerleithen / The Golfie, Scotland Chapters: 00:00 Dusty Golfie with the bike feeling wrong 01:12 Finding the 10mm setup mistake 03:00 Nae Spleens 05:38 Big Baw 11:06 New York New York 15:37 Wardell Way Upper Bike setup: Specialized Kenevo mullet eMTB Fox 38 Factory fork Öhlins TTX22M coil shock Vittoria Mazza 2.6 front Continental Kryptotal DH Soft 2.4 rear #MTB #Golfie #EMTB #MountainBiking #EnduroMTB #BikeSetup
