Revisiting the Sony CDP-101 - and taking a big risk
Back in April I made a video in which I attempted to repair three Sony CDP-101s. Two belonged to John, and the other to Aaron. The main mission was to repair John's preferred unit, and I managed to do that, but the other two players were still in need of help. I felt it was time to take another look at John's second player, which he'd sent to me as a parts donor. I'd left it with a tray that wouldn't close, and even after forcing it shut I was getting no sound although it appeared to be playing. I wasn't intending to make a follow-up video so did some of the work off camera, but decided to pick things up when they started getting interesting. *********************** The templates I made for the button membrane panel can be found on my website here: https://www.sparetimerepair.com/sony-...
