Why You Should Fly the Cessna 172 Skyhawk in Microsoft Flight Simulator | Asobo Default Aircraft
The Cessna 172 Skyhawk is an icon of aviation, but that's not the only reason you should fly it. It is a very fun aircraft that can get in to and out of tight spots with a skilled pilot. It is a nearly perfect platform for learning how to use the various instruments, navigation aids, and systems you will want to know for your more complex airplanes. It is also a very visceral flying experience, as you are light and will feel the effects of wind, turbulence, ice, and all other factors more than most fast jets. It's also a great vehicle for sightseeing, especially around particular points of interest you really want to soak up. We'll be demonstrating some of the fun parts of flying the Skyhawk and sightseeing VFR in MSFS taking a quick flight around the grand canyon, departing from Grand Canyon National Park Airport (KGCN), flying out over a large ravine, and returning to KGCN. Why You Should Fly is a series by VFR looking at the planes we can fly in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and what makes them cool and worth your time. All quality aircraft have some reason that makes them worth flying and we want to share that with all simmers. If you have a favorite airplane in the sim that we haven't covered, and want to tell us why we're nuts for not doing it yet, explain the error of our ways in the comments below! Thanks for flying with VFR!
