But you have robbed him! And they say, "How have we robbed you? In tithes and offerings!" You are cursed with a curse, for you, the whole nation, have robbed me. And I say to you, "Bring all the tithes into my house, that there may be food in it." Test me in this, to see if I will not open the floodgates of heaven to pour out every blessing upon you, until there is not enough room for it. I will also rebuke the spirit of destruction for your sake, so that it will not destroy the fruit of your land, nor will your vine be barren in the fields, says the Lord of hosts.” Matthew 23:23 Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, hypocrites! You set aside for God a tenth of mint, anise, and cumin, but you ignore the weightier teachings of the law, which are justice, mercy, and faithfulness. This is what you should do, without neglecting the other things. Practice Examine your life. Are you giving God what is due? Where should you take your tithe? To the Church Community, where you are learning and growing in the word of the Lord and in communion with your Bishop. Note: Remember that the tithe is dedicated to the Support for the expansion of God's kingdom.
