NEMATODE EXTRACTION: TRAY METHOD
This video demonstrates how motile nematodes can be extracted from soil or plant roots using very simple materials such as a plastic tray, tissue paper and a supporting wire mesh. Any similar household materials can also be employed for this extraction method, which has been modified from the Baermann funnel extraction method of nematodes. In both techniques, only motile nematodes are extracted as the extraction is based on the motility of nematodes. Sedentary nematodes, cysts nematodes or obese nematodes are extracted using other techniques.
