He Had All the Talent in the World… And It Ended Like This
“The saddest thing in life is wasted talent and the choices you make will shape your life forever.” That line from A Bronx Tale was the top comment on my Josh Ho-Sang video. And while it fits Ho-Sang in a lot of ways, there’s another name where that second part hits even harder. Because when it comes to choices that define a legacy, few stories in hockey are more brutal than Mike Ribeiro’s. Unlike Ho-Sang, Ribeiro actually carved out a real NHL career. He put up numbers. He had moments. He was talented enough to stay in the league for over a decade. But the decisions he made along the way turned what could’ve been a respected career into one of the biggest self-inflicted collapses hockey has ever seen.
